FRIDA KHALO:

My thoughts on Frida Kahlo’s surrealism is that I really like the way she put random things into completely out of context areas. For example, how she put her face on a deer that was impaled with arrows. That significant painting of hers gave me the idea that she probably felt like a deer being hunted or felt like she was being hunted down by who knows what. I think the arrows symbolized how much those feelings or those things hunting her down affected her which is why she has so many arrows shot in her deer body. Since Frida Kahlo is Mexican, I already felt drawn to her as a Mexican myself. She incorporates herself in various paintings of her own and I think she uses those paintings, especially surrealism, to express herself.
